Omkar Prasad Nayyar (OP)composed music by mixing the Punjabi beats with western beats and drums.
He never used the voice of Lata Mangeshkar. Once this was questioned by Sh.Ameen Sayani in one of his radio programs. OP replied that Lata’s voice didnot suite his music.
There was also a rift with Rafi. This had been told by OP himself in one of the interviews with Ameen Sayani. Rafi fixed an appointment with OP for recording & could not reach in time and was late by 2hours. On his entry to the studio OP asked for PACKUP. OP was annoyed because the time was fixed by Rafi. After this for 2years Rafi didnot sing for OP. This gave Mahendra Kapoor a chance to work with OP.
