There is a story about beginnning notes of this song. R.D.Burman created the entire tune but was unable to get the starting notes for this song. One day he was sitting at somebody’s house. Two glasses (tumblers) were kept on table. He picked up those two glasses and started striking them with each other. The result is the beginning of song – please listen. (He was so much fascinated that he asked the director to show the same in the movie).
